10 hotspot splurges and saves

So for me summer is not a season to lay around like a bum nor to watch TV, for me summer is about going to the beach, meeting friends, having an excuse to get ice cream, and most importantly shopping! Unfortunately with our recent economic drop not every little girl will be able to get that leather jacket they dreamed about in teen vogue. But think about it this way you could always get a foux leather jacket save money and the environment all while looking just as hot! Below is a list of places to splurge and places to save, you may be surprised how much you'l love this seasons latest "for target" collection!

SPLURGE: SAVE:

Aritzia Target

Cusp American Eagle

American Apparel Urban Outfitters

ALSO quick tip before you shop! Dont be afraid to cut clothing to fit your body there is nothing wrong with altering clothing a little if it makes it look better ( unlesss its a marc jacobs cashmere sweater)

My little green footstep <3

Google recently sponsored a new search engine that is better for the environment. This search engine, http://blackle.com/ saves watt hours by having a black screen thus saving energy! So next time you google that cute actor you saw in that AT&T commercial, Blackle him instead. But here is my thoughts . . . Why can't google just change its screen to a black screen thus saving watt hours by more users? Lol I doubt anyone would really mind? So click on the link to leave yourself a little bit greener for the day.

Same old is getting dull :P

When it comes to bikinis one must differentiate herself from the crowd it is easy just to rock that one ed hardy two piece you saw in seventeen but lets wiegh our options here; which is more fun; A. To go swimming? or B. to go swimming AND make a statement? Of course there will be some magazine looks that inspire you but in order to really get into the spirit of the bikini one must have the spirit and confidence to bust out something no one has seen before while still staying true to your body shape. Below are some great options for hippy figures:

This type of vintage suit will make you look like a million bucks! Hey, In the 50's woman had REAL hips and if they could pull this hot little number off so could you!Available at Modcloth.com!

No matter which bikini you may choose just dare to be spontaneous! If you have a boyish figure stick to light colors and ruffles to add that girly flare. If you have a curvy figure try on a cute little ruffled tankini or a vintage one piece!

Never to early to shop?

So its finally summer, I am free at last! But as I enter my favorite store I drool over this falls new "it" skirt. While i should be picking out an outfit to wear to johns pool party next week my mind continues to linger on what my first day of school outfit will be. I know it sounds pathetic but all teenagers have been through the same dilemma. So now what? As I stand awkwardly fantasizing over the skirt i wake up into reality to have a pushy sales girl throw me into a dressing room and have me try it on. So do i get it? Everyone knows that most stores receive next seasons collection before the next season comes by, so what if the beautiful flattering perfect for me skirt is gone by next week? what will i wear when fall comes rolling around then? HUH? So of course in the end I got the skirt ( THank Gawd!!!) But should I have saved my money for that bikini I was dying to get in march? It all depends on you. Are you the type of person who busts out in an adorable fall outfit for the first day of school, or do you let summer fade in and keep your summer wardrobe as long as you can? My advise? Focus on summer for now, give summer your complete attention now and don't miss a second because it will end as soon as you can say first day. Point is, I probably wont even wear that skirt I got today until mid October ,until then ill be soaking every last bit of sun out of summer!

Summer Season Spoiler

Though many of us have already carefully scheduled out our summer plans, whether it be going to camp to reunite with old pals, or chilling out by the pool, the show must go on. Unfortunately for some, numerous of America's favorite TV shows will begin to air their latest seasons smack dab in the middle of summer. If you have a DVR, lucky you. If not, not so much. For example, the second season of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" is set to air June 22nd. In this season, Amy, after giving birth to her son, John, is faced with the new challenges of being a teenage mother, and still must decide which of the men in her life should be the main father figure in the baby's life. So whether or not you are able to tune in, the season is definitely something to put on your radar. If you don't have a DVR you might have to splurge and buy the season on iTunes.
